A Career Awareness show for people of North Chennai was held at Everwin school today
Hon'ble Union Minister S. Jegathratchagan inaugurated the show.

A mammoth exhibition on career awareness for North Chennai people was organised today (12.02.2011) at Everwin Matriculation Higher Secondary School in an area spanning 30,000 sq.ft.
The exhibition showcased posters carrying information about various career options, where to study, how to study, characteristics of each career, job opportunities, earning prospects etc. 

Lectures on each career's characteristics and animals depicting such characters were also on show. More than 6,000 students from 100 schools took part in this awareness exhibition and were benefited. 

A book containing exhaustive information about career options worth Rs. 100 was given free to all participants. Jokes on various careers, famous personalities in each field, information related not only to major fields like medicine, engineering but also 100-other fields like food, media, beauty, civil services, shipping, space, sociology, music, fine arts, law, self employment etc. were also exhibited. 

Apart from school students, parents and college students also visited the exhibition. Students who had donned the roles of IAS, IPS, doctors, lawyers welcomed the visitors and guided them around.

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting S. Jegathratchagan who inaugurated the show urged that the young generation should not only enjoy the show but also realise the importance and get benefit out of such shows.
 Jayaprakash Gandhi, a career guidance expert who was also part of the programme shared valuable information about choosing their career.
 "Eventhough career shows are organised, students don't get the required information clearly. As a result, students are still in a confused state when they have to choose a career. Only if one has the right knowledge about a field, can one choose that career according to one's interest and come out in flying colours. Today's exhibition is an effort to achieve this" said Mr. B. Purushothaman, the school's Principal and Correspondent.

The show is open tomorrow (13.02.2011) as well for the public to visit. School's CEO Mrs. Mageswari and Senior Vice Principal Mrs. Kalaiarasi were part of the show.
